Blood In Urine. Chemotherapy Has Been Done. Problem Persists?
My father is suffering from a problem while urination blood is coming out in urine , in2009 he gone through TURP, biopsy report was benign after 2 years again problem arises then DR. suggested for surgery of testis that was also chemotherapy was given to him but from last 2 month he is suffering from this problem ,please help me out suggest the right treatment ,he is 75 years old.
If The doctor suggested to have surgery on his testes, that means he may have prostate cancer. Removal of the testes is one way of hormonal manipulation to decrease cancer activity. You may want to monitor his serum PSA since it is a marker for cancer activity and directly proportional to cancer growth and spread. What kind of chemotherapy was given? Was it for the prostate or for some other organ?
He may need to have a 3 way foley catheter inserted if he is urinating blood to ensure drainage of urine from his bladder.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-manuel-c-see-iv/66014 I would gladly help you. Best wishes.
