Boil In Upper Leg Area, Got Burst, Pus Draining. How Long Will Draining Continue?

I have a boil in my upper leg area that is 3 inches by 2 inches. It burst yesterday and the core came out. It drained quite a bit, but there is still a hard area around the opening at least 2 inches all the way around. How long should I anticipate the draining to go on? I do not have fever or red streaks down my leg. The area is red.

Hello,

Thanks for writing here.

Boil is infection caused by staph.

As it has ruptured and pus has come out you need not to worry much about it.

Hard area surrounding is due to inflammation and it will subside in 2 to 3 days.

You can just take antiinflamatory drugs for faster resolution.

Hope this will solve your problem.Take care.
