Breathlessness With Little Exertion. ECG Shows P Wave Flutter. On GTN Sorbitrate, Metocard, Acitrom, Crestor. Any Risk Factor For Heart Attack?

I am having P wave flutter as it is shown in ECG report. INR is 1.3. I am having problem of breathing on little exertion. I am Indian in the age group of 66 years. Normal BP range earlier was 140/80. Presently BP is in the range of 145/100. I am taking following medicines:
GTN Sorbitrate 1 bd; Metocard XL 25 1 tab after breakfast, Acitrom 2mg/3mg 1 tab daily in alternate day in the morning; Crestor 10mg , 1 tab in the evening.
I am on medication since Nov' 2012. I am still having the problem of breathing. My body weight is in the range of 90 kg, height- 5 ft 10 inches. What is the possible risk factor of heart attack ? Any precautionary measure to be taken to prevent the possibility

Hi and thanks for this query.

Your concerns about heart attack are real. Your risk is about 20% over the next 10years using the framington risk score. You can also play around with the figures yourself to see what it looks like on this web page http://hp2010.nhlbihin.net/atpiii/calculator.asp.

Artrial flutter is not really a risk factor for heart attack itself but having one arrythmia makes the other more likely and increases the risk score which is not accounted for in this scoring system. So maintain that your risk is slightly higher than the calculated risk on this scale.

Hope you find this helpful and informative. I wish you the best of health.
