Broke Fibula Malleolus. Noticed Lump Inside Knee. Having Lot Of Stiffness And Pain. Normal?
Hi, my name is Tony, I broke my fibula malleolus on 23 of may, I been in cast, and final in a air boot. I noticed there are a lump on inside of my knee, well my ankles they dont look exactly the same! still a lot of stifeness and pain when i do my excises. Is this normal? and how it takes to my ankles will look the same? Thank you and regards, tony...
A certain amount of stiffness and pain is a normal finding in malleolar fractures owing to the tightness in the soft tissues like ligaments and capsule of the joint that may develop secondary to immobilization of the fracture in a cast.
This generally resolves with time by regular physiotherapy in the form of active movements of the involved joints which stretches the tightened soft tissues.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
