Bronchitis Treated With Antibiotics. Cough, Phlegm Still Present. Gall Bladder Surgery Scheduled. Medical Help Required?
I had bronchitis the first of January and was given an antibioticand cough syrup . Since I was still coughing and had a slight yellow color to the phlegm and was scheduled for gallbladder surgery Feb 4th, my doctor put on a second round of antibiotics before my surgery. Anyway, I had surgery Feb 4th of this year. I went for my post-op check up and was cleared. But I am still coughing a lot and coughing up phlegm but it is clear thick mucous. Should I go back to my doctor?
You have to see the doctor again
Infection might have cleared - but the inflammation could have triggered asthma and so on.
Examination / X-ray chest and sinuses / Spirometry (Lung Function test) will clarify
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
