Brown Discharge Instead Of Periods. Negative Pregnancy Test. What Is Wrong?
Hello I ve never really had normal periods. In December, I just had brown discharge for the whole month. then in January I had a lighter period for about a week (enough to wear a pad, but not a tampon ). then i had the light brown discharge for a week and then another lighter period. I am 20 years old and I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. What could be wrong? Its very inconvenient!
Hi, Your symptoms are suggestive of hormonal imbalance. You need a complete evaluation for proper management. Please see a specialist and get a physical exam, complete hormonal profile, trans-vaginal sonogram, blood counts and urinalysis. You can get a blood pregnancy test to exclude/confirm pregnancy, which looks like a remote possibility. You may need a few courses of hormones along with any other specific treatment if needed based on the reports. Also, try to maintain a healthy weight, avoid stress and do some regular exercise. Hope you find this information helpful. Take care.
