Bruise In The Buttock, Pains Only While Walking. Fracture?
About 10 days ago I fell hard on the ice while walking, I fell fast and hard. My head bounced off the road. I had a small gash on my head that probably needed a stitch or two but I didn t didn t go to the ER. A few days later I had a bruise in the middle of my left buttocks . Not really unbearable pain, just took Iburprofen and the pain was bearable. I started walking again a few days later and even ran a mile, after that I have been in pain to walk and have to liimp. I have no pain while sitting or lying, just when I walk. I know you would need an X-ray to know for sure if there is a fracture , but I was hoping that by these symptoms you could tell if it is just a bad bruise. The bruise mark was barely visible and has gone but the pain is very deep.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The bruise that has appeared late is likely to be related to a soft tissue injury. A bone fracture seems unlikely. You need to have adequate bed rest and mild pain killers for a proper healing. Do consult an orthopedician if symptoms persist.
