Bruised Toes After Kicking, Painful. What Is Going On?

Hi doctor, yesterday, out of frustration, I kicked a folding camp chair. Now, when i kicked it, I kicked it with the top of my foot, closer to the mid section. No where near the toes. This morning, it looked just fine, but I used an ace wrap and wrapped it so that the swelling may decrease. After work (roughly around 10 hours of wearing the wrap), I took off my shoe and near MY TOES, it looks all bruised, but I remember kicking the chair with the mid area of my foot. It doesn't hurt, but the mid area does. What's going on?

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that you had suffered from soft tissue injury.
The swelling has radiated from mid of foot towards toe.

Cold compress will be beneficial.
You can take anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen one tablet twice a day after meals along with an antacid like Omeprazole 40 mg for relief from pain and swelling.

If the problem persists, get yourself clinically examined by an Orthopedician and get an X-Ray of foot done(AP/Lateral/Oblique view).

Give rest to your foot for fast recovery.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
