Bruising Of Elbow, Difficulty Breathing Due To Bad Fall. X-ray Showed No Breaks. Pain In Stomach And Lung Area. Any Ideas?

Had a bad fall 11 days ago off low kitchen stool onto back and elbow. Severe bruising of elbow. Hard to breathe. Went to emergency, numerous X-rays, no breaks. Sent home with Tylenol with codeine. Elbow is improving, rotator cuff in shoulder still sore but improving. Most concerned with breathing. Have pain inside body like it is in high stomach area or lung area. Was told likely bruising which will subside. What do you think? I am 68 year old woman.

Hello,
Thanks for writing in.
If you have got X rays done and they are normal, then its unlikely you suffer from any bony injury. This means the muscles and soft tissues might have got injured a bit and nned some time for recovery.
Your shouldeer rotator cuff may need rest for recovery.
The stomach and lung area pain may stay for a while upto a week.
Please avoid coughing unnecessarily as this can cause muscle pain.
Hope this helps.
