Bump At Base Of Tailbone, Feels Like A Hard Nodule. What Is This?

About 2 weeks ago I noticed a bump at the base of my tailbone while I was sitting on the floor. Since that time, the discomfort at that site has increased and I can feel a hard nodule jutting out at the tip of my spine. It does not feel superficial, it feels like it is almost a bone spur or something. What do you think?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,
Your history is consisted with pilonidal sinus infection.

You should consult neurologist/neurosurgeon for local examination of lesion.

You may also require further evaluation like MRI sacrococcygeal region and based on it fistullography to be deceided.

Meantime you have short course of antibiotics ( preferably augmentin duo 625 mg bid for 5 days) and pain killers

Hope this will help you
