Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Bump On Elbow, Painful, Cannot Be Drained, Tumor Suspected. Suggestions?
My son 46 years old has had an elbow big bump for about 10 years. Recently it has been hurting him. A doctor tried to drain it but it would not drain. He is scheduled for surgery next week to remove it. Doctor said he thinks it is a tumor. I have read that bone cancer can be secondary. What do you think will be the prognosis of my son.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. A suddenly appearing lump on the elbow that is painless and bony hard is suggestive of a bone malignancy. The soft tissue lumps may be there due to inflammation of the bursae, etc. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal drtayal72@gmail.com
