Burning, Itchiness In Vagina, Foul Smell After Menstrual Cycle Ended. Yeast Infection?
I have burning, peeling, itchiness in the vaginal area. The odor is a bad smell, I have to constantly shower because of it. This started right after my menstrual cycle ended yesterday. The first time I had this issue I was told it was a yeast infection . Could it be possible I have it again? Also, my lmp was 10/5 and it didn t come until 12/29, and it was the longest period I ve had in 2012..
Hello,
The best effective way to treat it would be to first get a vaginal swab. An odor always point to the infection. This infection could be a STD ( sexually transmitted infection ), if you are sexually active and having multiple partners or it could be fungal or be a pyogenic organism infection. Vaginal swab should identify the organism and would also give the best antibiotics or antifungal which would work against them. Take lactobacillus acidophillus (available over the counter) and eat yogurt which should facilitate the growth of normal bacterial flora of the vagina and increased the local immunity.
You are definitely right as it could be yeast infection.
You must consult your doctor and get proper diagnosis and treatment.
Thanks
