CT Scan Shows Abstruction. Have Scar Tissue From Surgery For Neuroplastoma. Concerned

My 19 year old Grandaughter is on her way to Sloans Kettering Hospital with an abstruction, which was only found this morning via Cat scan. She had scar tissue from an operation for Neuroplastoma, when she was 6 months old. Does she need an operation and what are her chances. I live out of state and are very concerned. I was with her when she was born and through her ordeal for a year in the hospital. I would give my life for her.

Hi and welcome to Healthcare magic.Thank you for the query.
I am sorry about this serious diagnosis and I hope that there are no signs of tumor recirenece. I dont know what kind of obstruction it is but if thi sis caused by scar tissue then ehre sugery shouldnt be risky and she should recover. BUt if there is sign of tumor recurence then it can be more serious.

Wish you good health. Regards

Hello. It is very difficult to comment about chances of success of his granddaughter with data you say.Neuroblastoma is a childhood tumor.
The tumor locations are diverse: abdomen, pelvis, chest, brain.
¿Where is located the tumor of his granddaughter?. I Understand that in brain.
I also need more data about "obstruction" :to know the degree of obstruction and if causes significant increase in pressure within the brain (hydrocephalus).
If I can say it's a good thing that is possible perform surgical intervention and referral hospital is an excellent hospital.
I hope the intervention a success.
I Wish good health to her granddaughter.
