Can Ambien Be Taken Along With Temazepam For Sleeping Difficulty?

I ve been taking Ambien 5mg for years. I take it in halves to fall asleep, and take another half when I awake in the middle of the night. My doctor changed me to temazapan 15mg, but I still awoke after 2-3 hours. Can I take a half an ambien as usual? Which is better for helping me feel refreshed in the morning by taking in the middle the night - another dose of temazapan or half am ambien?

Welcome to HCM. Sorry to hear about the sleepless nights. Please note that the two do not have an interaction and can be taken together or interchanged. However, it seems that your doctor switched you from the Ambien to the Temazepam, therefore I would not use them together before asking him, a phone call should suffice. It would seem that if the Temazepam did not help then doses of either one need to be increased, the Ambien also comes is sustained release. I hope this helps. Good luck
