Can Atenolol Be Taken Every Alternate Day While Suffering From Low Blood Pressure Levels?
my 82 yr old husband has blood pressure too low and has been taking atenolol for several years ...he takes half a 25mg pill every day, can he safely cut back to every other day … has never had a heart attack this med s taken because of stent several years ago ?
Atenolol can be taken PO 12.5-25 mg/day or every other day in hypertension. Ideally, BP should be below 130/80 mm Hg. If BP is low drug dosage is to be lowered or given on alternate day.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
