Can Clotrimazole Cause Bleeding With Pink Discharge?
Hello! i suspected i had some candida (which is once per year or so...) and i went to a walk-in clinic. i was prescribed Clotrimazole in a small capsule to inject inside, and then the use of cream, Three days ago, i used the capsule at night, and til now i have been applying the cream (three nights). When I woke up this morning and went to bathroom, realised that i was some sort of bleeding, pinkish really pink color discharge a bit like an emulsion, or soft cottage cheese. i am scared since the bleeding seems pretty pink and fresh. What could this be for? Than you!
Clotrimazole gel can cause vaginal irritation or burning sensation, blistering or peeling of the vaginal regions. This drug may also cause vaginal bleeding or lower abdominal pain as a side effect.
These symptoms will settle in a few days.If the pain or bleeding is severe you can stop the cream and visit your gynaecologist. Oral antifungal drugs or other vaginal gels can be used if the infection persists.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
