Can Diclogesic For Pain In Legs Affect Kidney Function?
as my mother aged about 75 years is suffering from pain in her both legs and one dr. priscribed tab diclogesic while the other dr. adviced to see on net about its side effect as this can be affect on kidney. Kindly advice whether the said tab can be effected kidney.
Hello there, Diclogesic contains Diclofenac. Even though this tablet or drug is very effective in managing pain we do not give it for prolonged periods as it damages the kidney and causes something called analgesic nephropathy. It is especially not given in patients with diabetes as in diabetes the kidney function already is reduced. A safer drug is T.ultracet or T.ultrabest 1/2 a tablet twice a day but also T.zinetac(once a day) has to be taken alongside it.
Hope this helps, Please feel free to address any further queries to me. I will gladly answer them,
