Can Doxiante Cause Any Side Effects During Pregnancy?

Dear Dr.Chetna, I am priya. I am 5 months pregnant now. I have vomiting problem and my Gync suggested me to take Doxiante tablet 2 times in a day. But i hear from other that not to take any tablets for vomiting problem and it will create problem for baby.. Please guide whether i can continue this tablet or not?

Hi,

Doxinate tablet contains doxylamine and pyridoxine or vitamin B6 which used to treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. It prevents the feeling of nausea and motion sickness in pregnant women and provides nutrition to the body. It is a very safe and effective medicine. It improves your baby's immune system as well as brain development. Most studies have shown no risk to the developing baby in the womb. Side effects of Doxinate are during pregnancy are drowsiness, sleepiness, rashes, itching, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, allergic reactions etc.
