Can Duphaston Cause Any Abnormalities During Pregnancy?

I am 8 weeks pregnant and I have been prescribed Duphaston tablets mainly in view of a previous history of threatened abortion and streaking in current pregnance. However I have never been tested for progesterone levels. Now I read on the internet that duphaston can cause abnormalities in the foetus. Is this true? If yes, how high is the risk of abnormalities?

Hello
Duphaston is dydrogesteron ( a derivatives of progesterone) .
Given is EARLY PREGNANCY , progesterone ( duphaston ) can cause MASCULINIZATION of female fetus and other congeniatl abnormalities.
Their use for diagnosis of pregnancy is now CONTRAINDICATED .
In my opinion use of duphaston is contraindicated in early pregnancy.
This is scientifically proved .
