Can Eliquin Be Taken Instead Of Warfarin For Osteoporosis?

hi, I m worried because my father takes warfarin and his doctor has decided to change him over to eliquis. my father has atril fib and has had a pacemaker since may, 2010. he started taking warfarin in 2009. my father also has gout and osteoparosis. while he was usually able to maintain inr scores between 2 & 3, there were some outliers from time to time. this is why his cardiologist thinks it might be best to try another medication. i m just a little concerned though since the warfarin , for the most part, seemed to be doing what it was designed to do. just looking for a little insight.
