Can Flexeril Cause Painful Tongue And Tinnitus?

Yes I am experiencing severe sensitivity of my tongue that is somewhat painful all of the time but especially when I eat. Any suggestions? Also, I started noticing increased tinnitus since I started taking Flexeril and wondered if this a known side effect?

Thank you for asking on HCM.

Short answer: These are side effects from Flexeril.

Detailed answer: Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine) may cause painful tongue and tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in the ears). Apply ice dices locally on the tongue or keep in mouth for 30 seconds cold water to ease the pain and sweeling in tongue.

Some of the side effects that can occur with Flexeril may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away.

If any side effects continue, are bothersome or if you have any questions about them, you may ask me again next time.

Kindly rate my answer as helpful.
