Can Garcinia Cambogia Be Taken While Taking Methotrexate Once Weekly & Prednisolone 7mg Daily For Takayasu Arteritis?

Hi,
I would like to know if I could take Garcinia Cambogia whilst taking Methotrexate 20mg once weekly and Prednisolone 7mg daily for a condition called Takayasu Arteritis. I also take 100gm aspirin daily, folic acid, vitamins D and B, caltrate. I have been on these medication for nearly two years and are keeping well.

Hello dear,

Garcinia cambogia has been endorsed as an effective weight loss aid, but there are no scientific studies to support it.
Similarly there has been no evidence regarding its interactions with other medicines.
However, there have been reports of Liver damage/ Hepatotoxicity following the use of Garcinia.

So, kindly consult your treating Doctor before starting any such product/supplement.
