Can Gastroenteritis Cause Shrinking Of Scrotum And Is It Reversible?

My 2-yr old toddler had gastroenteritis in May this year. He was dehydrated and was admitted to hospital for a few days. Since then his scrotum has become much smaller than before the gastroenteritis. It seems as though it has shrunk. I am worried that he may be impotent/infertile as a result. Could you please let me know whether Gastroenteritis could cause shrinking of the scrotum and if so, is this shrinking reversible as my toddler grows.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
exposure to cold will cause shrinking of the scrotum.
There is no relation to gastroenteritis and shrinking of the scrotum.
Better consult the doctor to rule out ectopic testes.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
