Can Glyburide Taken For Diabetes Trigger Menstruation?

I am 60 years old, went thru menopause approx 8 years ago. I am now experiencing menstrual periods that do not disappear. I am diabetic and take glyburide which I have been told can cause abnormal bleeding. I have experienced rather large clots at times. Can this medication trigger periods to start again? Thank you!

Dear madam,
Glyburide can cause some minor skin bleeds very very rarely. It doesn't have any effect on restarting menstruation. Secondly once you have attained menopause and start to bleed again its time to meet your gynac to rule out causes of bleeding like for example uterine or cervical malignancies. even though the chances are less and i have no intention of scaring you its better to be safe. So please see your gynac and let us know her opinion.
