Can HIV Be Contracted Through Pre-ejaculatory Fluid Contact With Skin?
Hello. I am a 29 year old gay man, and recently engaged in sexual activity with a gay man in his 40s. The man rubbed his penis against my anus for around 15 seconds, and there might have been pre-ejaculate fluid on his penis. Is this a risk for HIV? There was no penetration.
I can understand your concern. HIV or Human Immune Deficiency virus spreads by practically all body fluids. The risk remain very high when body fluids come in direct contact with mucosa or with injured skin. Contact with intact skin doesn't pose much risk. You had contact with a high risk person and his pre-ejaculatory fluids came in direct contact with anus and in my opinion if he was an infected persons then there is risk of transmission. I will advise, if possible, to get his HIV status done immediately. If it comes negative or status can't be found then visit a doctor immediately and ask for prophylaxis medicines for HIV. Post exposure prophylaxis should be given to prevent the infection. Zidovudin, Tenofovir, Navirapine etc are used as post exposure prophylaxis drugs. Please consult a doctor as early as possible.
Thanks, Hope this helps. Good Luck
