Hi doctor ... after 3 months i had check up for antibodies and it was non reactive my doctor told me that non reactive not gives mean that you dont have hiv non reactive means you come back for check up after 6 months until you take a negative result so what i do im really sad about this . And i have also one more question in clinics that nurses syring blood through injection its possible that we take hiv from injections ? Is clinices reuse the injections ?
HIV is transmitted by: 1. unprotected sexual intercourse with HIV infected person 2. infected mother to fetus/baby 3. through blood transfusion 4. sharing infected needle HIV screening is done by ELISA test and confirmation is done by Western blot test. HIV test reacitivity depends upon development of antibodies against HIV. Sometime it develops early, but sometimes it takes time to develop. Post exposure testing is done initially and at six weeks, three months, and six months. After six months, if it still comes non – reactive then you will be declared HIV negative. Don’t worry. Modern HIV test is very accurate. A single screening test is correct more than 99% of the time. These days, needle sharing in hospitals is not done. In all hospitals, disposable needles are available. But be careful while using needle. Check properly that it has not been used previously. Thanks
