Can HIV Be Transmitted To Human Beings Through Mosquitoes?

Dear Dr. Basti, Wishing you a Happy New Year. I have read your paper on Mosquitoes and HIV. The concept that mosquitoes do not transmit HIV was established in the 1980s. As discussed in my recent papers, the data collected in the early studies, that was used to formulate the concept, actually supported mosquitoes as the important risk factor, but, was distortedly interpreted. Therefore, mosquitoes have been excluded from the prevention strategy. HIV prevention has failed. It’s time to reevaluate our understanding of HIV transmission. Please read papers showing why global data support that mosquitoes are the most important risk factor in HIV transmission.
Thanks.

Hi,

Mosquitoes cannot transmit HIV since the virus cannot survive inside the insect. HIV itself means HUMAN immuno-virus i.e., which they require human immune system [specifically T cells to replicate which are absent in mosquito]. When a mosquito bites, it SUCKS blood and not INJECT it so there is no way of transmitting HIV.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
