Can HIV Test Be Taken After 3 Months Of Exposure?

I have protected sex with sex worker (oral & virginal sex single episode). But after 3.5 to 4 week I have small red bumps on my penis head. I tested 3rd generation elisa test at 38 days & 80 days for hiv comes negative for both hiv 1 & hiv 2. Can I retest at 3 months marks?

Thank you for query. The symptoms may be due to fungal infection or herpes infection as the morphology of rash symptoms are not clear. As you had protected intercourse the chances of acquiring HIV is least. You can retest just to relieve your anxiety after 6 months.results may not be much different than after 10 days (earlier was after 80 days). You can get back to me for any clarifications.DR Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist.
