Can Hep-A Vaccine Cause Loose Bowel, Fever And Stomach Cramping ?

My husband recently finished a round of 2 antibiotics for diverticulitis then had to get a booster shot for a Hep-A vaccine. Three days after the shot, he has had loose bowels, low grade fever(100.6) & stomach cramping. Could his illness be related to either or just bad luck. Sick since Wednesday night.

Hello,

Side effects of hepatitis A vaccines are fever, weakness, nausea, vomiting, and sometimes allergy. But as per my knowledge, loose motion is not the side effect.

As these symptoms developed after 3 days, so mostly it is not because of vaccine. I will suggest you to consult with physician or review here with detailed history.

At present I will suggest you to take tablet Imodium, tablet Cyclopam, Electral powder, consult with physician and keep yourself hydrated.
