Can I Apply Concentrated Dettol On My Acne Scars?

i have bad acne scars,,they are marks as well as deep pits all over the cheeks.. i had a nasty pimple on the cheek many years back and i had applied concentrated dettol over it for a few minutes.the skin had become white and then turned a dark black colour.after a few days it dried and peeled off and the new skin below was as clean and pimple and pits free.. i am thinking of doing this to the whole of my cheeks in the hope that i can have the same effect i had many years back.. i am 23 yrs old now.. do u think i should go ahead with it?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic.

I would advice against using dettol for acne because it is certainly going to burn your face.
For acne scars there are other suitable options available and I would suggest that you consult your dermatologist regarding these options.
Chemical peeling, Fractional Co 2 Laser, Microneedling, Dermabrasion, subcision etc. are various procedures that are useful to improve the cosmetic appearance of acne scars.
The choice of procedure depends on the severity and type of acne scaring.

Regards
