Can I Breastfeed My Child When Taking Eptoin Tablets For Epilepsy?

Hi, My wife has given birth to baby girl on Aug 31st 2011 morning 6.30 AM. She already have Thyroid and taking treatment. She undergone cesarren operation for delivery. On Aug 31st evening she affected to Fits/Epilepsy. Doctors given treatment, Later She had CT brain scan and reports were normal. Now she is taking Eptoin tablets two per day as per doctors advice. Her age is 27 weight 54. Now my Query is Can she give Mother milk to Baby girl?? and how long she has to undergo medicines?

Breastfed infants have slightly higher IQs and enhanced verbal abilities than nonbreastfed infants at 6 years of age. The levels of eptoin in breast milk is low and does not cause any problems to the infant.

So I personally feel breastfeeding is safe and to continue on eptoin.
