Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can I Continue Citrizine For Loose Motion And What Diet To Follow?
My grand son had loose motion yesterday at 00.1 hr. I had given one fourth tablet of citrizine and enteroquinol at every 6 hrs. Now this has been checked. My question is
1. Should I continue it for how many days or shift to other medicines.
2. Kindly suggest me his diet. Can I continue to give boiled egg and banana?
3. We live in India in Lucknow a city under Uttar Pradesh.
Cetrizine not useful for loose motion. It is used for cold and allergy. Don't give banana and egg as they aggravate loose motion. Give a soft diet like softly cooked rice with buttermilk, coconut water, or ORS liquids etcetera.
How old is your grandson? Since when he is suffering? Continue with Enteroquinol, if symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
