Can I Eat Non-vegetarian Food If Have Just Recovered From Typhoid?

Hi Dr. Samuel, I am very glad to meet you here. I had typhoid fever 2weeks back and I took the medication for 2 weeks and I am feeling ok now. But my question is can I eat non-vegetarian food like chicken, mutton, fish etc from now or do i have to wait for some time. Secondly, do my sperm count effect with typhoid? Thirdly, I am planning for a kid so can I take part in sexual activities? Please advice.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Although there is no contraindication for any specific diet after typhoid, genera instruction is to avoid heavy / spicy food since it is an infection which may affect intestines.
Slowly shift from easily digestible substances like boiled/ liquid food to complex. You can start by taking non vegetarian soups and as you feel your digestive system is capable to take more you can shift to less spicy other non veg dishes.

Next there is no contraindication to having kid, or no effect of typhoid on sperm count whatsoever.

Hope I helped
