Can I Go For Swimming After Having Navel Piercing?

I am considering getting my navel pierced in a few months, once I am done a life guarding course. If I did it, though, I would have to do it 10 days before going on a vacation, which would involve swimming. Is this a bad idea? If I take good care of it, would it be alright?

Thanks for asking in Healthcaremagic forum

In short: Piercing wound atleast requires 7-10 days for complete healing before your contact with water.

Explanation: Piercing wound will take atleast 7-10 days for complete healing. So plan your holidays according to it, so that it does not get infected contacting water.
Go for a sterile piercing tecnique in good and hygeinic place. Good luck enjoy
