Can I Start Family While Taking Medications For Epilepsy?

Hi, m female, 30 years old. I am suffering from epilepsy since when i was 12 yrs old. now from 3 yrs i am fine no siezures but still using medicines which are Tegral, Epilim and Frisium. i want to get married and start my family life, i want urs suggestion that either m normal enough for this. May i start my family life means children etc. normally while using these medicines. because until now i have no side effects of these medicines....kindly answer and guide me in detail....

You can very well get married and start your family while you are on the medicine for epilepsy. If you are not having any fits for the past 2 years then you can make an attempt to stop the medicine gradually over a period of 6 months. However if you are getting fits in between you cannot stop the medicines and you have to continue after your marriage and if become pregnant, the chance of getting normal healthy baby is around 95%; there is a risk of 5% only of baby being born with congenital birth defects. Let us
