Hello,

Minoxidil is used mainly for androgenetic alopecia (baldness) and few other types of hair loss. It is not preferred for itchy scalp.

It could be lichen simplex chronicus, based on your history. It is better if examined directly by a dermatologist to come to a correct diagnosis and proper treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
