Hi. I just took my nexplanon just yesterday my doctor recommended me to keep taking my birth control pills for the last 7days so i can have unprotected sex if i wanted to and to stop taking the pills on the 7th day, since the nexplanon will start working till then on its own? Is that safe mixing both together....

HI,
I understand your concern.
Nexplanon is a long acting hormonal contraceptive.
Usually it's inserted from day 1 to day 5th of menses / on the day when last active pill of oral contraceptive is taken .
I don't know when you got it inserted. But any way 7 days of barrier contraception is recommended after Nexplanon insertion, if it's before finishing the old pack of contraceptive / wait till the last pill of old pack & insert on following day .. For adding oral contraceptive hormones to the Nexplanon inbuilt hormone may cause temporary hormonal imbalance.
Thanks.
