Can I Take Baby Aspirin Every Alternate Day For Clot Behind Eyes Considering The Side Effects Of Aspirin?
I take a baby aspiron every day. 46 years ago before my last baby was born I had a clot on my legs but have had no recurrence of that problem. Last year I was told I had small clots behind one of my eyes but at my age - 80 that wasn't unusual. After the talk of the dangers of taking aspirin - would I be wise to take the aspirin every other day or should I consult my doctor first. Rose Fowler

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this clot that you have mentioned and the ongoing difficulty on how to adjust the dose of your aspirin. what degree of clot were they really talking about? if for real the clot is a problem and not bleeding, then there is no problem modifying your aspirin dosage. In any case, I will recommend that you talk to your doctors to find out what the exact cause of this could have been and if there were any possible relations to aspirin intake.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be and I will gladly respond to.
