Can I Take Half Of A 50mg Tramadol?

Can you 1/2 a 50 MG Tramadol??? Can t take a whole one because I itch so bad and had a rash from the whole one but need something for bad tooth with a crown on it and having it pulled tomorrow, hopefully, by a oral surgeon....I can only take Tylenol as I have acid reflux and they don t seem to stop the pain and the pain is shooting up to my jaw...no TMJ, as had that checked out yesterday. Appreciate your answer as I would like to stop the pain until I get this tooth pulled....

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
If Tramadol produces itching, it is due to allergy to the medicine. Allergy is not dose dependant and you would feel itchy even with half a tablet.
If the pain is not controlled with Tylenol and you are unable to tolerate a NSAID due gastritis, then you could try a tablet of codomol for pain relief.
If you have any further queries, I am available on the web.
Take Care
