Can I Take Hydrocodone Instead Of Oxycodone For Pain?

If oxycodone was taken at 6:30pm, and 1/2 tablet at 9pm but votimed up, and another1/2 tablet taken at 9:30pm but also vomited, can another be taken now, 10;15pm,...or a tablet of hydrocodine be taken? Kidney stone being passed from kidney to bladder at this time

Hello,

The adult dose of Oxycodone: PO 10 to 30 mg q 4 hr (5 mg q 6 hr prn for oral solution or immediate-release capsules). Oxycodone cn cause side effects like Nausea; vomiting.

Hydrocodone again a narcotic analgesic can be taken as 2.5 to 10 mg q 4 to 6 hr.

Any drug which has been vomited up within half an hour of ingestion is practically not absorbed and hence can be repeated. Oxycodone & Hydrocodone are equally effective.
