I just noticed that I am loosing a sudden loss of hair--more than normal. Up until a week or so ago my hair has been healthy & full. I'd scratch my head or run my fingers thru my hand and there would be more hair in my hand. I have a spot on my forehead w/ no hair!! In the last month or so I have has several dry patches--itchy too, on my face; my left eyelid, my neck, chin, and a spot next to my mouth. I do take levothyroxin---112mcg. If I forget to take it first thing in the morning and have started on breakfast I do not take it for that day. I also with my vitamins take thyroxin-free Thyroid Glandular from Swanson Health Products. I am considering taking an iron suppliment and want some opinions on yes or no and amount and for how long. I am 73 years old and the only persc. med. I take is the levothyroxin. Appreciate some information you can offer. Thank you, Suzy Upham
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. As you describe it appears to be the changes due to the deficiency of the testosterone, anemia,or due to some chronic disease. I advise you to consult a geriatric physician for diagnosis and treatment. As you are 73years old,you may require more thyroxine ,or if you are more particular to be beautiful, may require testosterone. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to have blood, general health and resistance against infections. . Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
