Hi,

I noted the history of passing loose fatty stool 10 times in a day, stomach cramps, antibacterial did not help, feel groggy and lethargic, takes about 2 liters of water a day and vitamin suspension. Currently travelling in South America, wants to know whether to take Rifaxim or Ciprofloxacin is more effective.

Since you have taken antibacterials without any effects, I would think of reasons for the loose stools so frequently. I would advise you the following: Get the stool and blood tested. Start Ciproflxacin as it is more effective. Take a probiotic, activated charcoal tablets, and antispasmodics. Take Loperamide after every stool, maximum 6 per 24 hours and see the results. Change over or add on treatment as per the reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
