Can I Treat Excessive Vaginal Discharge And Itching With An OTC Medication?

I am currently taking Cephalexen 500 x2 capsules x2/day for the last 7-10 days for kidney issues. Over the last 2 days I have noticed a vaginal discharge that is a little more than usual. No odor, just more wet, as well as an itch. I am not really active as far as sex goes-I consider once every month or longer not really active, so I’m not thinking any other std or whatever you would call them. Can I treat with OTC meds or should I go to refined/stat care and be seen?

Hello,

As a first line management, you can try Clotrimazole vaginal tablet.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated. In that case, you have to get a vaginal swab done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
