Can I Use An EKG As An EMG?

I have a couple EKGs available, but a project I am doing involves measuring electrical signals of certain nerves ( pulmonary , olnar, digital, etc.). Could i use an EKG instead of an EMG for this?

Hi... EKG and EMG are two different and contrasting technology. EKG/ECG is a measure of cardiac activity and EMG a measure of nerve activity. Hence they cannot be used as an alternate to each other

I realize this, however, they have similar amplifications and they work in the same manner I believe, just that one focuses its electrodes on that of the heart and the other on that of another muscle. And, isn't an EKG basically just a specialized EMG?
