Can Indomethacin Tablet Be Taken Along With Metformin Tablet?

My husband has diabetes type 2 and today he has had an attack of Gout. He has not had this for several years..The gout I mean...will indomethacin hurt his kidneys more if he takes this with his Metformin...he takes 2000 mg. a day of Metformin...needed now because he is in pain. Please help me with this...if he only takes the indomethacin for a couple of days...his creatinine level was 1.4 a few weeks ago

His creatinine value is slightly above the norm but if he is using this pain killer for only a limited time then it is unlikely to have a detrimental effect on his kidneys.

If he needs to use pain killers for a longer period of time then he may need to speak to his doctor so that a different one can be used.
