Can Lamictal And Cialis Be Taken Together By A 78 Year Old?

My husband was prescribed recently Lamictal to prevent a spell he recently had that they are saying is some sort of seizure activity. he was hospitalized for 3 days. He takes Cialis for ED infrequently & I forgot to ask the neurologist if there is any interaction with this drug. Was planning on starting the Lamictal in the next couple of days. He also takes Amioderone, Hct, Pradaxa, Losarten, & Synthroid. He is 78. As a retired R.N. myself, I do know that Lamictal has a lot of side-effects & am nervous about him taking it. We have only been married almost 4 years & this is the second time this has happened. His previous healthcare said that the previous spells he had (about 6 0r 7 of them) were TIA's; but since i took him both times to Major Medical Centers for complete workups, they both say it is seizure related.

Fortunately there isn't any significant interaction between Lamotrigine and Cialis they can be safely taken together. As for the side effects of Lamotrigine it is really one of the antiepileptics with fewer side effects, that is why it is often preferred. Most important and common side effect to watch for is allergic skin reactions which may happen in the first few weeks, other than that side effects are really uncommon.
