Can Levofloxacin Help Relieve Sinus With Severe Cold Symptoms?
Hi. I will probably see a Dr tomorrow. However, I have 9 Levofloxacin 500mg tablets and feel like trying them. What started as stuffed up sinuses Wed night was progressively worse with severe cold symptoms. Starting Saturday and worse today is a very persistant cough without much mucous. Feel a little gurgle in chest at times. I think I may have bronchitus. Wouldn t be the first time but has been awhile. My pneumonia shot was renewed in 2015 or 16. If I start these pills, will this mess with a proper diagnosis? Nevermind. Should have told me ahead of time of the charges. Can t afford much.
No. One should not just pick a drug because it is around the house. First, most of these cluster of symptoms are not caused by bacterial infection and are due to allergy or viral infection. second, levafloxacin might not be the right choice for a particular infection (such as anaerobes for example. one type of bacteria that doesn't grow in oxygen. They are often the cause of tooth and sinus infection. Levaquin doesn't work on them). Third if it works it looks like you didn't have anything wrong.
