Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am taking 34.5 mcg of synthroid because my thyroid TSH is low. I wasnt feeling any better so my Dr. ordered a T3 blood test and said it was low so he added Liothyronine 5 mcg. I want to know if T3 is a safe drug to add? and how soon should i see more entergy with adding this. Thanks, Roxie YYYY@YYYY
Liothyroinine is the active form of T3 thyroid hormone and can be taken if T3 is low. Your TSH might be high, not low. I need to check your TSH, T4and T3 value to comment further.
So attach your reports to comment further. You can take an added drug by your doctor if T3 is low. You can Consult endocrinologist for detailed evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
