Can Lisinopril And Statin Cause Low Testosterone Level?
I take Lisinopril and statin daily and am also diagnosed with low Testosterone. Could the two medications be the culprit? I occassionally use Ketocanozole cream (2%) topically occassionally for skin fungal infections. Lastly, I take Advair daily for asthma. I ve heard both these medications reduce T as well. Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Maninder's Response
Hi,
Lisinopril, Statin and Ketoconazole are all implicated in the decreased testosterone levels, however, there are not many clinical data available to consider Advair as the culprit. So, you are right in considering Lisinopril, Statin and Ketoconazole as cause of reduced testosterone specially when long term therapy is administered. I would suggest you to work with your healthcare physician for detailed investigations to rule out other causes of low testosterone and don’t stop the therapy with the above mentioned drugs abruptly as it may have adverse outcome. Please discuss suitable alternate medications with your physician for these drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
