Can Lyser-D Be Taken For Pain And Swelling In Thighs?

Hi Doctor, I was prescribed Lyser-D tablet along with Rantac three months back for lowerback pain & inflammation. I stopped taking it once the inflammation subsided. Now the pain in lower back & inflammation mainly in the gluteal and thigh areas (the inflammation is painless) has returned and I have resumed taking Lyser-D since the swelling in thighs though painless is restricting my mobility. I have started ayurveda treatment for my pain but since it will take time to show improvement the ayurveda doctor has right now allowed me to take the diclofenac (lyser-D) for pain & swelling. Is it ok to take Lyser-D for a long time? I am slow in responding to ayurveda so till it take effect I will have to depend on an anti-inflammatory pill. Is there any other alternative to lyser-D that could be more effective and could be taken for a longer time ( if needed)? If yes could you please let me know the dosage. Thanks in advance, Annu

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
The drug you are talking of contains Diclofenac which belongs to NSAID group, and on long term use has the complication of causing gastric ulcers and Renal complications. If you are using this for pain then can start Tramadol which is safer as far as complications and has more over strong analgesic effect but less anti inflammatory effect. The dosing is 100 mg bid.
